Troopers Rescue Woman, Cat After Connecticut Tractor-Trailer Accident

A woman driving a 2008 Toyota RAV4 was struck by man driving a 2005 tractor-trailer unit on Interstate 95 in Connecticut, The Day reported.

According to the article, Connecticut police said the RAV4 slowed down, and the driver of the tractor trailer was unable to avoid hitting the RAV4 from behind. The RAV4 was traveled off the right shoulder, rolled onto its roof, and down a 40-foot embankment. It landed in a swamp, still sitting on its roof.

The driver of the RAV4 was trapped underwater in her vehicle with her cat. Three Connecticut state troopers rescued the driver and administered CPR until an ambulance arrived. The cat was taken to an animal shelter.
