Support your favorite charities!

CarterCares is using our Facebook page to help local causes. Each month, our firm features a different charitable organization on our Facebook page. For every person that “Likes” our Facebook page that month, we make a donation to the featured cause or charity.

CarterCares allows Connecticut residents the chance to support causes that are important to them. It also allows our law firm to show our appreciation for the charities that help our community every day.

This Month’s Featured Charity: Kids Empowered by Your Support

keys1CarterCares is proud to support Kids Empowered by Your Support by donating $2 for every person that likes our Facebook page. This great local charity is designed to bring instrument lessons and group music instruction to under-served youth in the Bridgeport community.

From literacy preparation and academic achievement to performance ability and community building, music is about education. Music may be the reason a child stays in school. It teaches children how to excel and helps prepare them to be productive citizens. Music instruction should be a part of every child’s education — all children deserve this opportunity.

Little Elves for Little Angels

little-elvesCarterCares was proud to support Little Elves for Little Angels in December 2013 by donating $2 for every person that liked our Facebook page. This great local charity is designed to demonstrate to children the joy and value of giving to others through sponsorship of other children in need.

The Angel Program pairs sponsors with children whose families are experiencing financial hardship.  It is a wonderful way to teach your own children the spirit of the holiday, or a fun way to celebrate with your friends and co-workers.

Connecticut’s V.A. Hospitals

2013-11-01-CT-VACarterCares was proud to support the V.A. Connecticut Healthcare System in November 2013 by donating three toiletry items for every person that likes our Facebook page. Veterans in our state’s V.A. hospitals needed items like shampoo, toothbrushes, and shaving supplies. Giving back to Connecticut’s heroes was as easy as liking our facebook page.

Honoring America’s Veterans with quality health care services, Connecticut’s V.A. hospitals are part of the largest integrated health care system in the United States. V.A. Connecticut encompasses an inpatient facility and Ambulatory Care Center in West Haven; an Ambulatory Care Center in Newington; and six primary care Community Based Outpatient Clinics.

Connecticut Food Bank

ct-food-bank-227CarterCares was proud to support Connecticut Food Bank in October 2013 by feeding two people for one day for every person that liked our Facebook page. Connecticut Food Bank works with companies, community organizations, and individuals to solicit, transport and distribute donated food. By soliciting the food industry for products that will not sell (items that are wholesome but might have some cosmetic flaw), Connecticut Food Bank reduces waste and feeds people. Their mission is to provide nutritious food to people in need throughout Connecticut.

In addition to feeding two people for a day for every person that liked our Facebook page, the staff of Carter Mario Injury Lawyers had a “Food Fight” to see which group of staff can collect the most food for Connecticut Food Bank. The entire firm was divided into three teams, and each team is filling up many boxes with non-perishable food items. We raised over 2,300 meals.

New Haven Reads helps anyone in the greater New Haven area improve their reading skills, and foster a love of reading. Their volunteers are amazing people, who tutor anyone who wants to be a better reader. They offer one-on-one tutoring, as well as a large Book Bank to choose books that are of interest to them. Working in partnership with families and the community, New Haven Reads envisions a Greater New Haven in which every child has the opportunity to master reading and increase the odds of becoming a successful adult.

Jeans For A Cause Fridays

jeans-for-a-cause-stickerSupporting charitable causes of our staff’s choosing, our Jeans For A Cause Friday program allows our staff members to donate $2 per week so they may wear jeans to work on Friday. You’ll notice on Fridays that any staff member wearing jeans on a Friday is also wearing a circular sticker of the emblem on the left to show their support of this charity campaign. Each quarter, we total up all of the donations collected and donate those funds to organizations like The Center for Women and Families of Eastern Fairfield County, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, and the Clara Barton Camp, to name just a few.
