Bridgeport Motorcycle Accident Prompts Resident’s Safety Concerns

A 30-year-old man was killed as a result of a Bridgeport Motorcycle Accident that occurred this past weekend. Reports indicate the crash happened on Sunday along Boston Avenue, near the intersection with Orchard Street.

According to an article published in a recent issue of The Connecticut Post, the victim was riding his bike along Boston Avenue with a fellow motorcyclist. As the pair began to pass through the intersection with Orchard though, a pickup truck failed to yield the right-of-way to the bikers and struck the victim’s motorcycle. The impact of the collision caused the motorcyclist to be thrown from his machine. He struck his head on a rock upon landing and was declared dead at the scene as a result of his injuries.

A spokesman for the Bridgeport Police Department, William Kaempffer, explained that detectives are still looking into what contributing factors may have played a part in the crash.

The accident has left many area residents concerned over safety along the roads, prompting some to call for a traffic light to be installed at the accident’s location.

While remedies to the problem, such as traffic signals, may only come to fruition in the future, the Connecticut Personal Injury Lawyers with Carter Mario Law Firm say there are precautions motorcyclists can take to help prevent injuries or death in the event of a collision. The firm says it’s important for motorcyclists to wear a helmet and other protective gear every time they go for a ride.
