This past Sunday, April 6th, the CarterCares team was on the road again. We sponsored the Connecticut- West Hartford chapter of Walk MS and had twenty-two participants on the Carter Mario Law Firm team, which included our entire New Britain office. This is our second year participating in the walk and we plan many more years ahead. Together we walked, cheered, and helped other participants stay hydrated with our Carter Mario waters at the West Hartford UConn campus.
According to the Walk MS website, they connect "people living with MS and those who care about them." There are over 2.3 million people worldwide who live with MS. This organization has been raising money since 1988 and has raised over $770 million to support research and programs to help people living with MS.
With the weather being a little chilly at first, we made sure to not only pass out waters but smiles as well. Not letting a group walk by without cheering them on and letting them know what an amazing job they all did. We met so many amazing individuals and smiling faces excited to donate their time to such an exceptional cause.
The day proved to be more rewarding than we could ever imagine when two ladies who not only were participating in the event but living with MS came over to our booth. These two miraculous women, Sharon and Sandy, thanked us dearly for all we have done for the event and wanted to personally thank us for benefiting their lives. They were both full of life and even danced around with a few members of the CarterCares team to keep warm. Sandy and Sharon have been friends for over 40 years and we are honored to have met and affected such extraordinary women. To everyone we met, did not get the chance to meet, and hope to see again next year, thank you so much for participating in such a remarkable event.
