The Connecticut Law Tribune pays homage to the top personal injury cases each year by publishing a list of the largest awards and settlements earned in courts around the state. These cases become the centerpiece of conversations around our legal field, and the attorneys who earn them hold a special place in our community. And it’s with great pleasure that we announce that attorneys Carla Minniefield and Ryan Veilleux of Carter Mario Law Firm were both included on this list, earning the third-largest settlement in the state for 2016!
We are extremely proud of this honor as it is not only a highlight in the careers of two of our distinguished team members, but it demonstrates the exceptional legal ability and unwavering dedication they offer each of their clients.
Attorneys Minniefield and Veilleux teamed up on the case of Steven Alexander v. Joseph Riopel. In this case, their client claimed that the defendant failed to properly yield while he was on a motor scooter, causing a significant impact that led to extensive injuries. The trial was held in statewide court, and the case was officially settled on June 15th for a grand total of $1.25 million. The top five settlements were all auto-accident related.
