A Connecticut Slip and Fall is responsible for one Connecticut man being listed in critical condition. According to NBC-Connecticut News, the accident happened just before 10:00 p.m. Friday at a home on Lyons Street.
A spokesman for the New Haven Police Department, Officer David Hartman, stated that the victim was found in the backyard covered in blood and severely injured. Upon interviewing witnesses, officers were able to determine that the man was a guest of the resident who lived on the third floor of the building, and that the fall was an accident. They believe the fall may have happened due to the man suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder brought on by time spent in Iran.
The victim was last listed in critical condition at a local hospital after being transported from the scene of the accident by ambulance. Detectives say that they are still investigating the incident.
Statistics show that from 2005 to 2008, thousands of slip and fall accidents occurred, resulting in 224 deaths, along with approximately 6,000 hospitalizations and 24,000 emergency room visits. These accidents had a total price tag of around $136,000,000. The rate of Connecticut slip and fall accidents was 32 times higher for citizens over the age of 65-years-old.
The Connecticut Personal Injury Lawyers at Carter Mario Injury Lawyers hope that the victim of this horrible accident has a swift and full recovery from his injuries.
