A Connecticut Auto Accident this past week left two people seriously injured. According to The Connecticut Post, the collision occurred at around 2:00 p.m. on the afternoon of Wednesday, January 23, at the corner of Madison and Burnsford Avenues in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

A spokesperson from the Bridgeport Police Department, Bill Kaempffer, explained the crash happened as the driver of a red Chevy Blazer was traveling southbound along Madison. As the vehicle passed through the intersection with Burnsford, a white Toyota SUV collided with it after the driver failed to come to a complete stop.

Rescue crews were called to the scene and had to extricate the driver of the Blazer after finding the victim’s legs were pinned inside the wreckage. Both drivers were then transported to a local trauma center to receive treatment to the injuries they sustained.

Studies have shown that motor vehicle accidents at intersections represent a large majority of the total number of auto accidents seen in the United States. A significant percentage of these crashes are caused by any number of distractions, whether it is alcohol, cellphones, or passengers.

The Hartford Personal Injury Lawyers with Carter Mario Injury Lawyers recognize distracted driving is quickly becoming a major problem on highways across the nation and ask that we each do our part to keep the streets safe by focusing only on the road when driving.
