A Connecticut woman learned that alcohol, electronic devices, and driving don’t mix after causing a three-vehicle accident Wednesday. According to the Port Chester Patch, the accident happened at the intersection of Glen Avenue and North Regent Street just before 11:30 p.m. in Port Chester, New York.

The Port Chester Police Department says that the 57-year-old woman responsible for the accident was driving a silver Mercedes sedan along Regent when she looked away from the road for her cellphone. In that brief moment, she struck the rear end of a Kia sedan. The force of the impact caused the Kia to rear end a Ford stopped in front of it.

While the driver of the Ford was uninjured in the accident, the owner of the Kia suffered neck and arm injuries and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. The driver of the Mercedes was found to be under the influence of alcohol by officers after failing several field sobriety tests. She was taken into custody and now faces a single count of misdemeanor driving under the influence.

The Connecticut personal injury lawyers with Carter Mario Injury Lawyers know how frustrating being injured in a Connecticut auto accident caused by an intoxicated driver can be and would encourage anyone who has been hurt by a drunk or drugged driver to discuss your case with an attorney immediately.
