At Carter Mario Injury Lawyers, we care deeply about the brave men and women that serve in our armed forces. Their service is a boon to their country and its people. Often we talk about the benefits that veterans need to receive, or legal rights of those who serve or have served. This time, we are taking some time to talk about a great event that is taking place in Connecticut through the month of October. This event combines a group that we care about with a pastime that quite a few of us at the firm enjoy.

Harley-Davidson, through
Mike’s Famous Harley-Davidson of New London, are offering a free Harley-Davidson Riding Academy Beginners Rider Course for all current and former U.S. military personnel. This is part of Operation Personal Freedom launched by Harley-Davidson.

The motorcycle beginner riding safety course, a requirement in the state of Connecticut to receive a motorcycle endorsement, includes four full days of classroom and hands-on riding instruction. The courses are scheduled for each week through the end of October. The ratio of students to instructors is 6:1, ensuring plenty of individual attention for each service member.

The goal of the program is to help service members and veterans experience feel the open road while also teaching proper motorcycle safety technique. Harley-Davidson has also teamed up with the Wounded Warrior Project as of last November to help improve the quality of life for those soldiers who have been affected by post traumatic stress disorder.

We applaud both Harley-Davidson and Mike’s Famous for supporting our military members in this unique and enjoyable way.
