Data shows that Connecticut auto accident lawyers are one of the leading causes of injury and death in the state each year. In an effort to combat this problem, state officials approved a budget of $537 million earlier this week that has been allocated for projects focusing on improvements of infrastructure safety.

A story from NBC-Connecticut explained the money is a combination of state funds and federal aid. A portion of $113 million will be used to resurface and perform other routine maintenance on Interstates 95 and 84. Another $33 million will be used to replace roughly 30 bridges throughout the state that have been deemed a potential safety hazard to motorists. Another $115 million will be put towards the bridge improvement projects from the Fix-It-First State Bridges and Roads program.

Studies have shown that poor road conditions are a contributing factor in a large portion of motor vehicle accidents that result in injuries or fatalities. That is why officials hope that the improvements being made to the roadways will lead to a decrease in the number of accidents occurring along the roads receiving maintenance.

The Connecticut Personal Injury Lawyers with Carter Mario Injury Lawyers applaud the efforts being made by state legislators to improve the safety of Connecticut’s roads.
