A 46-year-old New Britain man is responsible for causing a Connecticut Car Accident that left a pedestrian dead. Reports indicate that alcohol may have been a contributing factor to the crash.

A story from NBC-Connecticut explained that the collision occurred Monday at approximately 10:30 p.m. at the corner of Jordan Lane and Folly Brook Boulevard in the town of Wethersfield, Connecticut. Police say the man was driving his vehicle through the intersection when he struck a 50-year-old female pedestrian.

The impact of the collision left the victim with multiple blunt force trauma injuries. Paramedics were called to the scene and rushed the woman to a local hospital, but she died shortly after arrival.

Meanwhile, police began to question the driver responsible for the crash. They were able to determine through testing that he was under the influence at the time of the crash and placed him under arrest. He was charged with Driving While Intoxicated; however, police say more charges may be filed pending the outcome of a full investigation into the incident.

The crash highlights the dangers of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Records show that nearly 100 people were killed as the result of drunken driving accidents in Connecticut during 2011 alone.

That’s why the Connecticut Personal Injury Lawyers with Carter Mario Injury Lawyers urge motorists to never get behind the wheel of a vehicle after consuming any amount of alcohol.
