Greenwich Time reported that the Connecticut Supreme Court has overturned a jury award of $41.4 million, which was to be distributed to a man who had received injuries from a Connecticut work accident at a construction site.
The man sued the general contractor of the construction site for not safely securing a steel beam, which in turn broke loose and fell on the man. The injuries that occurred from the construction accident left the man paralyzed, who asked for Connecticut workers’ compensation benefits.
The Connecticut Supreme Court overturned the jury award ruling because evidence suggests that the man’s employer could be held accountable for the victim’s injuries sustained in the Connecticut work injury accident.

The Connecticut House voted 100-33 to approve a Connecticut teen driving bill, according to Republican American.
The bill is in response to an increase in the number of Connecticut teen auto accidents.
The proposed driving bill would affect 16- and 17-year-old Connecticut drivers and their parents and guardians.
The auto bill enforces stiffer penalties and places additional restrictions on teen drivers such as a roll back on curfew time for drivers and increasing the on-the-road training requirements in the hopes of deterring Connecticut auto accidents.
Also, the parents and guardians of these teen drivers must take a two hour course on the teen driving laws before their teens are allowed to take their license test.
